It has been a huge growing experience, looking back at how my art has changed. I started out buying flowers already made, feathers, and various jewels from the local arts and crafts store, but after studying the flowers I figured out how to sew my own for unique styles. All I needed was thread and some ribbon and I was ready to go! This is when I began to seriously consider the possibility of selling my work on Etsy. From there my creativity blossomed much like the very flowers I sewed.
I found my mother's collection of spare buttons and began using them as decoration. I found feathers, which I washed and cleansed thoroughly to add variety to the store-bought feathers. Eventually, and I feel ashamed to even admit this, I realised that store-bought feathers were not environmentally-friendly. I no longer purchase them, as this goes against my personal values.
It was only a matter of time before I also discovered ways to make twisted wire beads look even better than the store-bought ones. Before I knew it, I was truly creating everything I possibly could from scratch.
Every day I am learning, and I hope my journey is one that inspires others to explore their hidden potentials.
